hi

I am facing interesting dichotomy in my scores. I am doing very well in problem solving, but not doing so well in Data sufficiency. I understand math concepts well as my problem solving score indicates, but yet fail to do well in DS. What can I do to improve myself in Data Sufficiency? Are there any techniques or tips?

I had the same issue at the beginning of my prep - My solution was to do as many DS questions as I could.

Do you have any specific weaknesses...say number properties, word translation problems, etc.? If so, focusing on those areas will definitely help your DS as well.

I'm sure you know this, but I'd like to highlight that there are two types of data sufficiency - some that ask something like "what is the value of x?" and some that ask a yes/no question such as "is x even?"

Most students I've had in your situation (good at math, bad at data sufficiency) were actually just struggling with yes/no data sufficiency. They're definitely a weird type of question and require a totally different approach than do "regular" data sufficiency.

Hope this steers you in the right direction... beyond that, just practice a lot. :)
