Change in GMAT Format in India ?

I recently read an article in a newspaper that mentioned that there is going to be a change in the format of the GMAT for test takers in India. It mentioned that some new sections are to be added in the GMAT test in India. I would like to know what are the changes and whether the changes have already been implemented ? If the changes have yet not been implemented, then by which date can we expect the implementation ?

I would like to have students views on this and would appreciate if any expert could provide advice on this ?

It shouldn't be true. From where did you read this article? GMAC will not change the format for a particular topography. The changes will be universal if it happens.

As papgust has mentioned, it is highly unlikely that GMAC will change the format of the test for only one particular georgraphical region. Why don't you go ahead and post the link to the articles here. We have many experts here and they will get a better idea about what you are talking

Yes, this was exactly what I was talking about. It was mentioned in a leading newspaper in India that the GMAC is going to introduce a new section on the GMAT in India by late 2010. This was mentioned in a may edition of that newspaper. Only doubt I have is whether the GMAC will introduce the new section in june 2012 worldwide on the same date or will it introduce the new section in India earlier , and then later on at different countries on different dates.

The new Integrated Reasoning section will not be added to the GMAT until June 2012. Papgust is correct that the GMAC would not move the date up for a specific geographic area (unless they specified they would be doing so from the beginning, which they did not). If you are planning to take the test before June 2012, you won't be affected. If you plan to take the test after June 2012, GMAC will release practice problems for this section which you'll be able to use as part of your preparation.
