I'm assuming you're referring to the diagnostic test beginning on page 20 of the OG13. The Interpretive Guide (on page 45 of the OG13) takes the results of your diagnostic test and assigns ratings of "excellent," "average" etc.

The test is meant to familiarize you with the types of questions found on the GMAT and give you a very approximate idea of your current skills. Please note that the test is quite difficult, so don't worry too much about the results.

If you're following BTG's 60-Day Study Guide, keep in mind that you will retake this test later on to help gauge your progress.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Brent,

I just finished re-taking the math diagnostic exam (on Day 21). I doubled the amount of questions I got right! Specifically I brought my DS from below average to above average. What do you mean by "this exam is quite difficult" in your earlier post to @srabani? Do you think it is worth re-taking the diagnostic again later for level of difficulty practice?

Thanks for your help. I can't believe my self study books came without any form of suggested study guide/schedule. I don't know what I would be doing without the 60-Day Study Guide guidance! The progress spreadsheets are a huge help, too!

Hi hmeletis,

Congratulations on such a big improvement.
The diagnostic test is very hard, so "above average" is excellent.

I don't think it's worth taking this same test a 3rd time. There are plenty of other sources of difficult questions.

Cheers,
Brent
