from statement we get 3^x*5^y=1125=5^3*3^2..there is no other break possible given that X and Y are integers.
so X=2 and Y=3

hence statement 1 is sufficient.

Same for me. Ans is A.

We can break 1125 down into 3x3x5x5x5 which gives us the value for x and y. Thus st 1 is sufficient...
