IMO:C

Severe and increasing is wrong usage, So eliminate A,B
Severely is wrong usage, so eliminate D,E.

Left with C, correct!!!

Hi Sunny,

Increasing is an adjective and hence can modify noun critics.
Increasing critics is nonsensical.

So A and B are out!
