Am i eligible for GMAT

by Chetan Joshi » Thu Dec 11, 2014 6:09 am
Hello sir
I (Chetan Joshi) Assam,India is pursuing my graduation from here only i.e Assam.
I have scored 79% in my HSLC examination from SEBA board and 89.9% in my 12th CBSE.
I m thinking to appear for GMAT examination because i want to study in Harvard School and pursue my MBA degree from there.
Secondly i don't have any work experience.
My question s that will it be difficult for me to study from there as they require work exp. as i have read in some of the articles. While other articles suggest that these schools take, if u have a good score in GMAT even if u don't have any work Exp.
Kindly help me.

Hi Chetan Joshi,

Most Business School programs require 2-5 of work experience as part of the application. There are exceptions of course, but without any work experience, your undergraduate (college/university) grades and GMAT score become even more important to your application. Harvard is a very competitive school to get into, so if that is your "real" goal, then you might want to think about getting some work experience and applying in a few years time. If you know for sure that you want to earn an MBA, then you can study for the GMAT now and take care of that part of the application, so that you won't have to worry about it later.

Hi Chetan Joshi,
If you are a undergrad student, then HBS-College Students(2+2) is the best choice. It is comprised of two years of professional work experience followed by two years in the HBS MBA Program.
Upon graduation, admitted 2+2 students spend two years working in a professional, HBS-approved position in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. The 2+2 Program attracts accomplished students from all fields of study.
You may take GMAT or GRE + TOEFL, IELTS or PTE.

2+2 Profile for the Class of 2018:
Range of GMAT scores: 610-780
Median GMAT score: 730

Hope this helps. Let us know if you would have any other specific question and we would be happy to guide.
