(E) twice the number reported in the 1977 survey

Correct answer is E, but can someone highlight the problem with option "D"

20% of young adults is going to be a single number

Ex: 20 % of 100 = 20, its a single number. "these"is not the right usage as 20 is singular.
"Single Malt is better than Blended"
