If d is the average (arithmetic mean) of a, b and c, then c =
(A) 3 d - a - b
(B) 3 d - a + b
(C) d - 3 a - 3 b
(D) d - 3 a + 3 b
(E) (a + b)/ (3 d)

d = (a + b + c)/3 implies 3d = a + b + c
Therefore, c = 3d - a - b

The correct answer is
(A)
.
