Hi,

I am planning to apply to ISB for the 2012 intake. However, ISB is not my first choice of B-School as it is a 1-year course and I am looking at a course of at least 18 months duration. My query is about the conversion rate for Round 2 applicants at ISB. I am apprehensive about applying in Round 1 because if I make it, I will have to deposit Rs.2 Lacs by November end, which is too early in the admission process of other B-Schools. Hence, my question is what number of applicants who apply in Round 2 actually make it into ISB? Is it taking a big risk to apply in Round 2?

Thanks,
Sawan

Hi Sawan,

I recently attended an ISB Infosession at Bangalore and they discussed this topic in detail. According to them, they allocate a specific percentage of offers to both R1 & R2. If I am not wrong, these percentages are almost similar for both R1 & R2.

As per them, there is no disadvantage in applying during R2.

Best regards,
Sandeep

Hi Sawan,

We have been helping ISB aspirants for 3 years now and we can say with confidence that chances in R2 are less than R1 everything else kept the same.
This is because:

More offers are given in R1 ( which is true for most of B schools including ISB)
ISB receives much higher number of appps in R2 . This is because more people take GMAT in Aug, Sep, Oct and hence they miss R1.

Hence acceptance rate for everyone is better in R1.

Hope this helps.
