What percentage of the population of town X was born in the town?

75 percent of the female population was born in the town.
50 percent of the male population was born in the town.

A Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

75 percent of the female population was born in the town.
50 percent of the male population was born in the town.
75 percent of the female population was born in the town.
INSUFF

50 percent of the male population was born in the town.
INSUFF

Combining:
Population = M + F
Male population born in town = M/2
Female population born in town = 3F/4
Hence total population born in town = M/2 + 3F/4

Percentage = (M/2 + 3F/4)/(M+F) * 100
this cannot be calculated since we do not know M,F values or any ratio between M and F

Hence INSUFF

pick E.

Hope this helps!!
