IMO A,

";" indicates both the clauses should be independent...drop D,
Op E you please edit as u missed some part...

Op B, -ing form without COMMA modifies the preceding noun..so here making is modifying eye...so that means eye making it invisible...nonsensical

Op A and Op C are close contender, though its always painful to pick the choice which is passive but still i picked Op A....i learned some concept and it worked and helped me when to pick passive....

When a passive voice is preferred???

Case 1:-- When the subject of the sentence is Indefinite, general or is unimportant.

ex:- they mine the coal in Asansol. (active voice---poor)

the subject is indefinite and it is not clear what is meant by THEY.

Coal is mined in Asansol. (passive and better)

Case 2:-- WHAT WAS DONE is more important.

Ex:- Columbus discovered America (active---poor)

America was discovered by Columbus (passive--better)

Now coming back to the question...see

If you say,

1. eyes register infrared....(active voice)

2. Infrared registered by the eye...(passive voice)

Though m saying this wrong because its the wavelength not infrared which is registered but that doesn't make sense on what i wanna explain...so please ignore this thought

Now how to select between these two...as i mentioned earlier..when what was done is more important rather than the subject of active voice....one more hint..if you see this "is invisible because its wavelength-0.1..." this is describing INFRARED..so it should come first...

hence the correct structure is

Infrared..is bla bla bla...to be registered by the eye...

This is my opinion...correct me if m wrong.

Thanks
