Two boxes each contain three balls, numbered with 1, 2, 3. If one ball is to be selected from each box, what is the probability that the sum of the numbers will be even?

OA is D
I go with D

sum will be even if

both are even or both are odd

probability of drawing a even number is 1/3( from 1,2,3) and an odd is 2/3

so its

1/3*1/3 + 2/3*2/3
1/9 + 4/9 = 5/9
