G(x) is the greatest integer less than or equal to x and L(x) is the smallest integer greater than or equal to x. Which of the following can be the value of L(1.1)-G(1.1)?

A. -2
B. -1
C. 0
D. 1
E. 2

The OA is D.

I don't understand this PS question. Please, can any expert explain it for me? Thanks.

L(1.1): the smallest integer greater than or equal to 1.1 is 2
G(1.1): the greatest integer less than or equal to 1.1 is 1

If L(1.1) = 2 and G(1.1) = 1, then L(1.1) - G(1.1) = 2 -1 = 1. The answer is D

Since L(1.1) = 2 and G(1.1) = 1, L(1.1) - G(1.1) = 2 - 1 = 1.

Answer: D
