Option A - INCORRECT.
It is certain that the suspect robbed the bank, because as soon as the suspect ran out of the bank he started shooting. But this option does not best support inferences been drawn in the passage.

Option B - INCORRECT.
It sis also true to assume the suspect was not as good a marksman as were some of the police, because if he was, then he wouldn't have been shot by one of the policemen.

Option C - INCORRECT.
However, it is a certain that the suspect didn't come to rob the bank alone. The suspect's accomplices, all armed with guns possibly, were in the waiting car for the suspect to enter so they can take their leave but one of the policemen was smart enough to get the suspect down before the other suspect left him in his fate.

Option D - CORRECT.
This option best supports the inference been drawn from the passage. Had it been that the suspect had not been hit by one of the policemen, he would have fled the scene in the car. However, if the policemen where unable to get a shot at the suspect then they won't be able to apprehend the suspect, also no trace of information about the suspect accomplices would have been possibly accumulated for investigation.

Option E - INCORRECT.
The police were not trying to kill the suspect but rather to arrest the suspect and his accomplices by shooting back at them.
