Will I be okay? PLEASE I Need your help? Anyone?

hey fellaz,

hoping you are all well. Okay so my exam is in 20 days. I took the CAt from MGMAT 3 times. Scores are 580, 460 and 520. All i need is a 560-570 to hopefully get into the mba program that I want.

Now even though I am not an English native speaker, I am much better on the Verbal and AWA sections as opposed to the Maths secton!

If I intensity my Maths practice from he OG 11 and the Green, do you think I can actually fare well on the exam (560 -570) range?

To tell you the truth, these score fluctuations are giving me the creeps. Which is making me freak out everytime I think about taking the actual GMATPREP exams. Are these score fluctuations normal? Should I average them out to get a feel on what score to expect on the exam?

PLease advise.

an increase in verbal will have a greater effect on your overall score than an increase in quant of an equal amount. this is because it is more rare for someone to score higher in verbal than in math. Keep working on increasing both areas, don't sacrifice one area for the good of the other.

this statement is probably true at the highest levels of the score range, because there are lots of test takers with quant scores in the very high end of the range (49+), but an extreme paucity of test takers with verbal scores in the same range.

for students scoring around the average, though, this is almost certainly not a true statement, and, for average scores and below, it may even be reversed.

hi,
Well since you are good in verbal section, which is weak inmost candidates, you do have a positive start, keep practicing it and make it stronger. on the other hand, since maths is very basic level a bit practice and test papers for practice and time managent will do wonders for you and you will score far higher than u desire.

the good news is that those books are absolutely packed with questions at just about that difficulty level. as other posters have noticed, those books are a bit undersupplied on high-level problems, but, if you're in the range you're talking about, you'll have a LOT to work with.

just make sure you're studying in the right way. in other words, don't just solve problem after problem after problem; instead, make sure you look for general lessons in the problems you're solving.

Thanks guys. To tell you the truth, the advice to work harder on the verbal was not what i expected. but i truly understand what you mean.

i appreciate the feedback.

i'll post my gmat score once i take the exam
