Looks like the word irregardless has a long history.

Just like whether or not is wrong and whether is right, irregardless is wrong and regardless is right

Irregardless is not a word and hence regardless is correct
Protestor's - an apostrophe s is required since the action of burning an american flag is done by a protestor.

A & B are out due to the word Irregardless - In GMAT you have to keep it simple so do not select double negative coices if the meaning is intended as positive

D -changes the meaning as explained

C - sounds awkward and incomplete

Hence E is the answer
