Hi,

I was curious if the OG supplemental (Quantitative Green Cover and Verbal Purple Cover) books differ in content and practice questions from the OG Review (Yellow cover)?

I want to get a batch of new test questions to do and looking for sources.

Thanks

Hi Chiller,

The OG Supplementals offer different questions but the content is the same. I would say that the middle 50% of questions in the Supplemental guides are harder than the middle 50% of questions in the OG, because the OG has a lot of relatively easy questions, some intermediate, and some difficult. By contrast, the Supplementals have a lot of intermediate and some difficult questions.

The OG offers a lot more practice and is better if you want to get only one of the two, in my opinion.

I used the OG more than the Supplementals in my preparation because I had gmatfix's OG Companion to complete the OG

Do you have to pick one or the other?

I already have the yellow OG. I have done most of the questions, so Im looking for a new batch to attack.

Any advice? Are the supplementals worthwhile in my preperations? I essentially want to increase my score to mid 600s, so any advice on which materials to take up for testing would be appreciated. Thanks.

Personally, I do not think they are worth it if you are aiming for mid 600s. The OG has so many questions and questions that, in my opinion, are harder than the supplemental books. I would just stick with the OG and know it cold.
