I am working thru the Manhattan GMAT guide on CR. It advocates making abbreviated notes after each sentence, focusing on key words & ideas and identifying the premises from the conclusion.

I have yet to actually test myself using this strategy (I am currently just practicing making notes on each passage), but it takes 60-90 seconds to make my notes and that seems like an awfully long period of time considering each verbal question is supposed to take <2 minutes in its entirety. Is this truly the most reliable, time-tested strategy to succeed on CR?

So my question is, do you use/have you used this note-taking strategy? If so, what are your thoughts and what is your GMAT score (if applicable?) Have you modified it in any way?

In the beginning, its a good practice to take notes. Helps you identify the structure of the argument and makes you notice little but important points in the argument. But as you go along, you should prepare summery of the argument in your mind. And once you get the hang of it, you won't need to write down anything.
