One study found that although government policy and the industrial sector in which a company operates can influence its productivity and financial strength, management decisions have at least as great an impact on a company's performance.

1.management decisions have at least as great an impact

2.decisions by management have a great impact

3.manager decisions impact greatly

4.decisions by a company's management impact greatly

5.what a company's management decides has a greater impact

IMO 1 should be the correct choice.

2.decisions by management have a great impact (passive)

3.manager decisions impact greatly (its not Manager decisions but management decisions)

4.decisions by a company's management impact greatly (passive)

5.what a company's management decides has a greater impact (awkward construction. what ...?)

By POE : 1 is left: a closer look reveals this choice infact makes the meaning clear i.e though their are other "factors", management decisions are as great.

1.management decisions have at least as great an impact (correct ans)

BTW what is OA ?

Hi.. Why is choice 5 wrong.

First, I find 1 to be wrong because, the second part of the sentence is incomplete. ie, " management decisions have at least as great an impact on a company's performance. ", should be followed by as... (something). The correct phrase is : A is AS important AS B. In that sense it is incomplete. " management decisions have at least as great an impact on a company’s performance" as any other, is needed for it to be complete.

Also, the sentence can be broken down into several parts like this : One survey found that although A & B can influence its C & D, E has a GREATER impact on performance.

From this, I think Choice 5 would be the best of the lot.

Can some one add to this?

IMO E is the correct answer.
A is not complete.
IF B had greater instead of great,it would have been the best choice.
The sentence is somewhat like this
Although i can do the job but he can do it in a better way.Its a comparison which requires 'er'

E cannot be correct because it changes the meaning, since it removes the possibility of all of them playing an equal role, as it states that company's management decisions have a greater impact, while the main sentence says atleast.( >=)

IMO A but not sure why the second 'as' is missing.
