Run-on error

by vishugogo » Tue Apr 30, 2013 7:00 am
The increase in the incidence of crime can be attributed to the decrease in the number of security guards in the locality, more than 500 of them have left their jobs in the last three years.

I cannot figure out the 2 independent clauses which are connected kindly indicate the subject and verb in both these clauses.

Well, either side of the comma is an Independent clause.

First clause:
Subject: Increase
Verb: Can

Second clause:
Subject (phrase): more than 500 of them
Verb (phrase): have left
