Given that the five starting players on a basketball team score points in the ratio of 1:1:2:3:4, on the ratio scale they score 1 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 11 points.

Since 11 points on ratio scale = 77 points on an actual scale, 1 point on ratio scale = 7 points on an actual scale; thus, the highest-scoring starter scored 4*7 = 28 points

Correct answer: E

Hope this helps!

Solution:

We can create the equation:

x + x + 2x + 3x + 4x = 77

11x = 77

x = 7

Therefore, the highest-scoring starter scored 4(7) = 28 points.
