Can anyone point out why D is wrong?
in D the usage of past perfect had pulled is wrong.......simple past tense should have been used

when someone is reporting an event , an action that took place in the past becomes past perfect .in D the usage of past perfect had pulled is warranted

option A looks best here.. D is in Past Perfect tense. Option C and E are incorrect due the word 'like'

option B is awkward (that he agreed...)
