Can you pick out whats wrong (grammatically) with the each of the incorrect answer choices. What is the major issue with the sentence ?

By the way … E (my choice) was incorrect !

I choose C.

A) Modifier problem. "When working with Overseas clients" phrase modifies global manager. Here, it modifies "An understanding of cultural norms"

b) "They" has no referent. Furthermore, the sentence looks awkward.

D) The sentence does not look parallel. "That" has no referent.

E) It distorts the meaning of the original sentence.

"Understanding" is parallel to "Grasping"

No ambiguous pronouns such as "They", "them"

D-Them could refers to client or mangers. No clear antecedent
A-Passive contruction

"an understanding" not parallel to "grapsing"

( article-participle combination)

E-"find an understanding" is awkward, "To be" is wordy on GMAT

Not idiomatic "AS...important ..AS"

B-they has no referrent
Not idiomatic "AS...important ..AS"

imo:C

A)Has a modifier problem..as Mani_mba has mentioned.

B) 1) "they" doesnt have a clear referent.
2)the idiom should be "as..important ... as"

D) 1) use of an article "an" makes it too specific and strong.
2)"them" and "they" dont have a clear antecedent.
3)improper comparison.
4)"that"-a relative pronoun, doesnt have a clear referent

E)1) use of "an" as mentioned above.
2)improper usage of "as .. important ..as"
3)change of meaning with the introduction of "find"
4)awkward construction.
