Hi, I do not know how to solve this. Here is where i got stuck? Not sure how to approach after this. Can someone help?
Avg = 150K
median = 130K
Means there are 7 values which are 130K or less and 8th value is 130K.

Vignesh you may be right, anyway I is true because
If the less expensive houses were all at 130
We have 130*8=1040
The total of the last 7 most expensive houses is 15*150-1040=1210
And the 7 houses cannot all be under 165 to go to 1210

14 houses are sold for 130000. So the 15th house should be more than 150000.
if even 1 house id going to be lesser than 130000 then the upper limit is going to increase.
wel and 1 last thing 130000 cant be the min value cos it is the median ..
So A has to be true isnt it ?

Thanks guys.. Indeed A is the answer but can you tell me why its answer is not E because 130,000 is median, So there must be at least one house which is sold less than 130,000.. isn't it ?

The median is the middle term in the set. It's also possible that the median is the lowest term in the set.priyankamishra11 wrote:Thanks guys.. For example, the set:
{130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 130, 190, 190, 190, 190, 190}
has 15 terms, a median of 130 and a mean of 150.
So the lowest number in any set must be less than OR equal to the median.
