2. At Shiprock, New Mexico, a perennially powerful girls’ high school basketball team has become a path to college for some and a source of pride for a community where the household incomes of 49 percent of
them are
below the poverty level.
(A) where the household incomes of 49 percent of them are
(B) where they have 49 percent of the household incomes
(C) where 49 percent of the household incomes are
(D) which has 49 percent of the household incomes

Could someone please clarify

Is Q1 an example of subjunctive?
Why not option D?

In Q2 where/which

For (1)

The park will be open to the public early next year. Therefore, the park should be modified.

Only option (B) modifies park.

For (2)
I went with (E);
But after seeing the answer, thought - what does "them" refer to???

There is no antecedent. So, the closest answer is (C)

One is subjunctive mood, 'that' must come. shoot C,D,E. A is wrong because of modifier error.

In second, community can refer to society as well as a place, so all where/which/in which are fine.
But, ABE have pronoun error.
D has meaning error. leads to meaning, community has 49 percent of household incomes.

IMO B,C.
When you think you can or you cannot, you are generally correct.

1)B
2)C

IMHO,
1) 'Proposed' is a subjunctive but D is wrong because of " the park’s development" rather than "the development of the park." It is essential we know when we are dealing with sentence correct questions why answer is right or wrong.I have observed that GMAT always baits us to select wrong answer choice based on grammar rules, especially on sentence correction. Some folks say that when you see BEING on GMAT,it is always wrong but there are exceptions. So,knowing the exception is as much as important as knowing the rules.

2) D is wrong. "a community which has 49 percent of the household incomes " suggests community is a person or human being as against " a community where 49 percent of the household incomes are " suggests community as a thing.
Even impossible says I M possible

1. Yes, it is subjnctive mood. It also tests misplaced modifier. IMO B
2. C looks bst out of all. However, I do have a doubt here, can "where" refer to "community"? Most of the time we use "where" to indicate "place". Please clerify.
Thanks,
