I wanted to post my experience for everyone struggling with nerves. I took the GMAT twice, first time 680, this last time, 730. The difference was my state-of-mind going into the test. With my first test I studied too close to the test. As I studied I began freaking out if I didn't know something. The day before and on test day I just had a huge mental block. I was stymied by my nervousness and wasn't surprised by the 680. My second time through I didn't even study the day before. I didn't even think about the exam. I showed up, started right away and just took the thing. One additional thing, I'm not a morning person. I took the exam at 8 AM the first go around, but the second time I took it at noon. If you're not a morning person take it later in the day.
All in all, if you find yourself obsessing over the test stop. Stop studying (you know the info because you've been studying for the past few months!), plan something fun to do that evening so that you have something else to think about. Walk in, take the exam, and forget about what you do and don't know...just take the exam.
