Tuck Waitlist (How do I get off?)

by jt327 » Fri Dec 17, 2010 2:27 pm
I just got on the Tuck waitlist. I applied Early Action, and it's by far my first choice. I self-initiated an interview up in Hanover a while back. Male, 26, 750 (47v, 47q), 3.62 from top Ivy, 3.5 years WE.

At the risk of asking open-ended questions to which I'm sure many people know the answer:

1) What does it mean to be on the Tuck WL? How easy/hard is it to get off it, as things go?
2) What can I do to express my continued interest in Tuck? I will do just about anything.

Thanks!

Hi,

Thanks for your post. As a former member of the admissions committee and manager of the Tuck waitlist, I have a few pointers for you.

1. Tuck always gives feedback. Each person on the waitlist is given specific feedback about their candidacy and what they can do (if anything) to gain admission
2. Be patient. Because Tuck offers feedback to everyone it can take awhile. Reach out and let them know you'd like to remain on the waitlist and ask for feedback. You may not speak with anyone before the new year given the upcoming holidays

In regard to how difficult and/or easy it is to get off the waitlist, that varies depending on the reason you are on the list as well as other factors such as yield.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly at [email protected] should you wish for assistance with your waitlist strategy.

Best,

Stacey
