Strategy for CR Questions

by Cinji18 » Fri Apr 23, 2010 3:49 pm
I'm trying to speed up the time I spend on CR questions, and wondering if any of you guys read the CR passages like RC passages. I'm talking about active reading, taking notes while I read.

Right now, I takes notes on both CR and RC questions (of course more carefully and detailed on CR) to remember what I would have just read. However, on CR, after I finish reading and writing notes on the passage, three to four minutes would already be gone, and I would have yet to read the answers.

Maybe my notes are too long? Perhaps my strategy needs tweaking, but I'm not sure where or how. I do have the PowerScore book though.

You can take notes if that helps you but it is important to recognize what type of question you are working on before you begin reading, that way you can focus on what is important for that quesiton.

For instance it is a much more detailed question to ask - "what did the passage say" as opposed to "what is the conclusion of the passage?" The later question will keep you moving and focused which is important becuase you aren't trying to learn the information in the CR, just process it quickly.
