BC = 1/3 AB
Area of triangle ABC= 1/2 base * height = 6
= 1/2 * 1/3 AB * AB =6
= 1/3 AB^2 = 12
AB^2 = 36
AB = 6
BC = 1/3 AB = 1/3 * 6 = 2
AC = square root AB^ + BC^2
= square root 6^2 + 2^2
= square root 40
= 2 square root 10
Answer is E
