Total number of shoes sold = x + y;

Thus, x = 2/3 of (x + y)

x = 2x/3 + 2y/3

x/3 = 2y/3

y = x/2

The correct answer: B

We can create the equation:

x = (2/3)(x + y)

3x = 2(x + y)

3x = 2x + 2y

x = 2y

x/2 = y

Answer: B
