(D) A baby emerges from the darkness of the womb with a rudimentary sense of vision that would be rated
about 20/500; an adult with such vision would be deemed legally blind.
(E) As a baby emerges from the darkness of the womb, its rudimentary sense of vision, which would deemed legally blind for an adult, would be rated about 20/500.

OG D.

Though I answered it correctly. my question is since we reject C as ; should introduce an independent clause. In "D" also such vision makes the sentence after ; a dependent clause??

I can suggest which C is wrong from my understanding.

In C, "its" can refer to womb and baby also.. hence it is ambiguous ... for your question...the second part in sentence D is independent ... it starts with an and has a subject(adult) with a predicate
"Native of" is used for a individual while "Native to" is used for a large group
