The correct answer is a.
b - ambiguous, it does not specify which work it refers to
c - should be followed by a phrase and not a clause
d - the same as c
e - "that" modifies "a linear narrative", which is a grammatical mistake

narrowed dwn to A and B, and took B.......
cn u xplain more to delete option B..
"it does not specify which work it specfy" is it necessary to have specific work??
