1 year MBA.. does it make sense now?

by frizo » Sat Feb 14, 2009 11:08 am
Does a one year MBA make sense now. Those who are planning for the 2009 program. Looks like Mr. Obama himself(https://www.rediff.com/money/2009/feb/14 ... -obama.htm)
has said that the economy will take years to recover. And, with stories of less placements, will it make sense to pass out by 2010, with all those huge loans to pay off? Especially, The U.K MBAs.

Dear Frizo,

Thanks for your post!

You point is an interesting one for debate. In fact, a very similar question was posed several weeks back, and I would encourage you to look at my response to it, since much of it is relevant:

Of course, the added wrinkle you've added is 1 year vs. 2; and this is certainly a valid point. Having said that, I suspect that one's personal timing (in terms of their career progress) may still outweigh market speculation to a large extent. In any event, this is all excellent food for thought - so thanks for raising the issue for those in the forum.

Best of luck,

Graham
