All GMAT Gurus

I have GMAT in 3 weeks

I am scoring around 48 in Quant. Mixture,Prob/Comb are my weak areas. I have just started doing problems under timed condition. I am scoring around 28 in Verbal. I have following plan to build stamina and cross 700 bar. please provide your suggestions
I have read all the manhattan quant and SC books, and power score CR.I know the concepts for Quant and verbal
Improvement required Quant 48 to 51: Verbal 28 to 40.
This Week
1. Do 7-8 GMAT CLUB Test this weak
2. Daily do 75 verbal (25 SC 25 CR and 25 RC ) from OG 10 under timed condition.
Next Week
3-4 manhattan and 2 GMAT Prep
Last week
Revise all the stuff and do 2 GMAT PREP.
Till now I was doing problems without setting time so i have stamina issues that i am planning to take care in next 3 weeks.
1.Kindly review my plen and suggest improvement
2. I found OG match very easy so pl suggest alternative practice to improve score, gmatclub is ok?
3. My accuracy has dropped from 80 to 60% ever since I have started practicing under timed condition. will this improve over time.
4.Can I improve stamina and score by practicing for 3 weeks.
Thanks
Poonam

Hi poonam,

since you have 3 weeks to go, i suggest a 100-Hour plan for preppin.. here's how it goes

Study Resources for the 100-Hour Plan

* Kaplan GMAT Premier Program (Book & CD-Rom)

* Manhattan Review Turbocharge Your GMAT books

* The Official Guide to the GMAT

* The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review

* The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review

* The GMATPrep Practice Test

The 100-Hour Plan:

1. Read the "general test tips" section in both the Kaplan book and the Manhattan Review books.

2. Take the first practice test from the GMATPrep Software. Spend at least 2 hours reviewing both the questions you got wrong and the questions you got right.

3. Read the Quantitative section in both the Kaplan and the Manhattan Review books.

4. Repeat step #3 for the Verbal section

5. Repeat step #2 with the 2nd practice test from the GMATPrep Software.

6. In the Official Guide, do problems #1-#75 in Problem Solving and #1-#51 in Data Sufficiency. Be sure to review the explanations for all questions. Make sure to time yourself on all questions.

7. In the Official Guide, do problems #1-#42 in Reading Comprehension, #1-#49 in Critical Reasoning, and #1-#43 in Sentence Correction.

8. Repeat step #2 with the 1st practice test from the Kaplan CD-Rom or the Manhattan Review online CATs.

9. In the Official Guide, do problems #76-#146 in Problem Solving and #52-#93 in Data Sufficiency.

10. In the Official Guide, do problems #43-#90 in Reading Comprehension, #50-#89 in Critical Reasoning, and #44-#102 in Sentence Correction.

11. Repeat step #2 with the 2nd practice test from the Kaplan CD-Rom or the Manhattan Review online CATs.

12. Selectively go over the problems in Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review (105 Reading Comprehension questions, 82 Critical Reasoning questions, and 113 Sentence Correction questions) and Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review (176 Problem Solving questions and 118 Data Sufficiency questions).

13. Ace your GMAT!

poonammarwah from the information you stated, "3. My accuracy has dropped from 80 to 60% ever since I have started practicing under timed condition." Do you know where you're having the most difficulty in Verbal? SC - CR - RC? If you know that you take longer to tackle an RC problem, then yes of course studying that is key... but... in addition to that.. SC is an easy place to pick up some extra seconds that you can use on those RC paragraphs. I also think that SC is easier to improve upon because it's based on finite rules, so memorizing those rules is key.

I do wish you luck though! Keep us posted!

Practice is fine, and hammering away the Practice Exams is a great way to build familiarity with the exam, which'll help alot. However, if you want to further increase your improvements, I suggest taking some time after each test going over the questions you got wrong, or had the trouble with. Since you already know the concepts, find out what you did wrong, and faster ways to do problems.

Also, take advantage of your dedication to the practice exams! Don't just do them to get through them, pay attention to the type of question they ask so you can respond quicker to how you're going to approach. Look for keywords, shortcuts, etc.

Thanks for your reply.
Could you please suggest extra resource for quant. I have done OG 11 and 12. Has anybody improved the score using gmat club. I am at 48 in quant and want to improve 2-3 points.

In verbal Is it sufficient to practice from OG10,11,12 and GMAT PREP.

Can I build the stamina and improve the score by practicing in these 3 weeks.

Thanks
