GMAT study plan

by sk_22 » Mon Aug 16, 2010 2:16 pm
As I mentioned in my previous post that I am planning to retake GMAT after I did not scored well last time.

Currently, I have following books:
1) OG 12th
2) The Official Guide for GMAT Verbal Review
3)The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review
4) Access to kaplan online questions and quizzes

I am also planning to buy MGMAT Guides

I was wondering if someone can advice me how/in which order I should study these books. please help me.

I bought the entire MGMAT set of study guides from amazon (in retrospect, probably only needed the math ones).

Use those. Throughout the guides there are problem sets linking to actual problems from the OGs. If you go through all the guides, you will basically be doing every single OG problem; great practice!

Personally, I found MGMAT guides and OG guides sufficient; did not feel the need for any other study materials. That's enough to study!

Oh, plus the MGMAT guides are labeled 1 through 8. you can just go through them in order. They will link you to all the OG problems.

(1-5 are math; 5-8 are verbal i believe)

Or if you want to study math concurrently with verbal, you can study guides 1 & 5 together for example.

Oh, also.. at the back of each MGMAT guide is an advanced section; I saved the advanced section for round 2 so that it was a good refresher course on the basic section too.

basically: guides 1-5 basic, repeat 1-5 advanced (for me; I did not study verbal).
