I just completed the math diagnostic test in the Official Guide for GMAT Review, 13th Edition (p. 20-26), and had troubles answering all of the questions. Is this common? I did well in all of my math classes (high school and college), but don't remember how to solve these problems. Should I be concerned already? Should I continue the 60 study guide or look at taking classes instead? I plan on taking the GMAT in early January.
The diagnostic test is a killer. Don't worry too much about it. The test is meant to familiarize you with the types of questions found on the GMAT and give you a very approximate idea of your current skills.
Later on, you'll retake the Diagnostic test to help gauge your improvement.
The resources used in the 60-Day Study Guide cover everything you need to ace the GMAT, so I don't think it's necessary to change anything.
Keep in mind that this is just Day 1. So, don't dwell too much on the results of this test. A high score is still achievable.
