Abstract reasoning

by avenus » Sun Jul 08, 2012 12:42 pm
Hi there,

This is not really GMAT material but in any case a good exercise for your grey matter. Can anyone explain the solutions to the attached abstract reasoning sequences?

Cheers

just skimming through them quickly, abs 4 I believe is C

EDIT: My answer for abs 3 would be D

EDIT2: My answer and reasoning for abs 2:
I can't really find a noticeable pattern in the position of the arrows, but I think the answer is D, simply based off the fact that most people would try to find a pattern in the position and neglecting the fact that the shape of the arrow "heads" changes in each phase, adding one inverted arrow "head" replacing it with a normal arrow head. The only answer that follows this pattern and has 4 inverted arrow heads is D. EDIT AGAIN: actually there is somewhat of a pattern, but I don't think its necessary to solve it.
