A

stmnt 1: (x^2y) = 16 .....(1)
2(x^6y) - 4=2(x^3.2y)-4
putting value from ...(1) we get 2 (16)^3-4, can be solved for a value
sufficient

stmnt 2: xy=4
not sufficient, can never find x^6y from this.
