Confusing Data Sufficiency Problem..

Data Sufficiency Problem..

Is X < X^2?

1.) X is positive.

If i am solving the equation, i am getting X > 1, So X is positive and statement is 'Sufficient'
If i am substituting the values directly to equation
X = 2 2<4
X = 0.5 0.5<0.25
Which says statement is 'In Sufficient'.

Can anyone help in guiding to solve this...

Thanks,

X < X^2
X -X^2<0
x(1-x)<0

option 1
x<0 and 1-x>0 so x<0 X<1

option 2
x>0 and 1-x<0 so x>0 X>1

x is positive means X>0 so X can be even 1

if x=1, then the answ to the q. -" X < X^2?" is NO

if x=2, then ans is yes
