Tangents and Parallelogram

by rahulvsd » Wed Oct 19, 2011 9:40 am
In the figure shown, line segments AB and AC are tangent to the circle (line segments tangent to a circle originating at a common point are congruent.) Additionally AB and CD are congruent and parallel. What is the measure of angle y?

45+90+y=180; y=45

Extend Line AB, to Angle DA'O' would also be 45.(Parallel to BC)

Hence 90+y+45=180
y=45
