Unlike the Oscar, which is given for achievement in motion-picture production or performance, a person receives the Grammy award for achievement in musical production or performance.

a) a person receives the Grammy award for achievement in musical production or performance.
b) a person's achievement in musical production or performance receives the Grammy award.
c) the Grammy is awarded to a person's achievement in musical production or performance.
d) the Grammy is awarded to a person who has had achievement in musical production or performance.
e) the Grammy is awarded for achievement in musical production or performance by a musician.

I would choose D

A- Grammy needs to begin this clause and not "a person"

B- same as A

C- its awarded to a person not a person's achievement

D- Correct

E- I'm not sure of the idiom, but "awarded for" sounds awkward to me

My answer is E
Difference between D and E is parallelism.
I don't see why "awarded for" would be wrong.

a person's achievement S BEING COMAPARED WITH OSCAR AWARD....MISPLACED MODIFIER..WRNG
c) the Grammy is awarded to a person's achievement in musical production or performance.
ERROR OF MISPLACED MODIFIER IS CORRECTED HERE BY STARTING THE CLAUSE WITH THE GRAMMY AWARD HOWEVER
AN AWARD IS NOT GIVEN TO PERSON'S ACHIEVEMENT BUT TO APERSON HENCE WRNG
d) the Grammy is awarded to a person who has had achievement in musical production or performance.
CORRECT
e) the Grammy is awarded for achievement in musical production or performance by a musician.
THE S/C CONVEYS THAT the Grammy is awarded for achievement in musical production or for achievement performance by a musician. WHICH CHANGES THE INTENDED MEANING , the intended meaning is achievement in musical production or performance.
