I wish to comment more on this question.
At the end of OG books and in GMATPREP, the questions all or much of which is underlined appear, this showing the hard questions.
we can understand the explanation of this questions. But I wish to find out METHOD OF ATTACK for this kind of question. Though Stacey already wrote an article on this kind of question, BREAKDOWN LONG SENTENCE CORRECTION PROBLEM, I am not satisfied with the article though it is helpful. The point is that CHUCK MOVED AROUND concept is not effective for all kind of questions.
the matter is that there is a correct long sentence and gmat distort this sentence by hundreds of way to make 4 wrong choices. studying advanced grammar dose not help inhere. the matter is how to realize correct sentence in 2 minutes.
Member, pls, open your data of SC questions, and choose 5, or 10 questions of this kind and do and find out the method to attack this kind. I am doing now.
expert, pls, help. This kind of question appears at the end of the test, a sign of hard question.

B - to be tightened and loosening - are not parallel; them incorrectly refers to singular policyOzlemg wrote:The policy of applying indirect taxes, like value added tax and excise duties, that were enforced in Lithuania was less strict when compared to the European Union's members in 2000, which imposed tax rules and tariffs that, for the most part, needed to be tightened in order to harmonize with the EU's requirements and not to loosen it for the purpose of remaining competitive with trading partners outside of the EU.
