Views of Regional vs. National Schools

Ok, so I know there is a huge difference between say the top ten schools and then schools lower on down the foodchain. My question is, how do people or companies view the top regional schools as compared to the top national schools? Take Brigham Young University that was just ranked as the #1 Regional B-school recently. Do people consider that anything like the top 10 or 20 national B-schools?

I think that regional schools may be a good option if you plan on sticking around the region for a while. Otherwise, if you think you are going to be mobile or perhaps international in the future, you may be better served by going to a "nationally-ranked" school.

Regional schools generally have strong network in their local area. And the companies also have tie-ups with such schools. It's most likely you'll end up getting some job in that area if you have MBA from such b-schools.

While national level schools (or internationally recognised b-schools) have wider network and have greater chances of getting all of their students recruited.
