Hi Experts , I need to know if I am studying in the right direction .

In Q I get 42-44 most of the time . I am reviewing some of the weak areas like number theory , geo and co-ordinate geo . This is what I am doing - I pick 35-40 questions ( varying difficulty) from Gmaprep /OG and MGMAT and then try to solve them in timed condition . I end up getting 14-15 questions wrong ( Phew!) .

I review those question , mostly the mistakes committed from higher level questions . Do I have to retake those question again or just leave those since the questions are not going to be repeated .

How do I study for the type of questions I am getting wrong . Say for e.g I get a question like this -
"How many times will the digit 7 be written when listing the integers from 1 to 1000?" I know what the question is asking but I have no clue to tackle it ? How to improve in such areas ? Please please Advise . GMAT in 4 Weeks .

When analyzing questions you answered incorrectly, you need to identify the key concept(s) that eluded you. Then go back and learn those concepts.

Afterwards, you might find it useful to locate more practice questions that test the same concept. To do so, you can use BTG's tagging feature to isolate topics. For example, here are all of the questions tagged as statistics questions: https://www.beatthegmat.com/forums/tags/ ... statistics

In addition, it's important to note that one of the great things about almost all GMAT math questions is that they can be solved using at least 2 different approaches. Typically, one approach is much better (i.e., faster) than the other(s). So, your goal should be to recognize the best approach for each question.

To get better at recognizing the best approach, you should spend time reviewing the responses from the Experts on this site. Here you will find a variety of approaches for every question.

Cheers,
Brent
