640 + 9 years of work ex

Hi,
I am a typical Indian IT male.I am an ardent follower of this forum. However writing something for the 1st time.I gave my GMAT last week and i got a meagre 640.
Feeling little dejected because this is the score which i never got even once in my practice testes..I was scoring around 680-720 in Manhattan mock testes and quite hopeful of a 700+.However in the real GMAT somehow i lost focus during my verbal section and bombed.I got a 49 in quant but a meager 29 in verbal.
Thinking of retaking the exam in end of July. However if someone can assist me in assessing my profile it would really help.
1.I am currently working as a IT consultant in a global IT MNC.I have around 9 years of work experience out of which 2 years in europe.
2.I have 88% in 10th, 84 in 12th and 71% in my Btech from a respectable university.Academically i think i have a good background.Never had break in any stage of academic or professional career.
3.Actively participated in some in some NGOs working for street children mostly education.

Can anybody suggest whether with my profile i have a chance in any good university in india or US.I was targeting some good universities in India. But open for other Bschools abroad as well.
Need some advice..

I have talked to many Indian IT guys.

Try targeting schools like Nanyang, NUS, HKUST, AGSM, Melbourne Business School & CEIBS.

Hi Jim,

When i say good it means the universities where i have a better chance of getting in and where the placement is good.
Well when i started with the GMAT prep, primarily i was targeting premier Indian Colleges which offer 1 Year programs such as ISB,All IIMs (Exec),SP Jain Mumbai,Sp Jain Dubai,XLRI etc.
I have not done much of research on universities abroad. But open to all.

Since i am 31,would that work against me?Need suggestion
