If four fifths of one third of 75 % of a number is 27. What is the 2/3 of the number?

(A) 75

(B) 45

(C) 60

(D) 90

(E) 135

This one is easiest if you convert everything to fractions:

(4/5)(1/3)(3/4) = 1/5

So, (1/5)*x=27

Solve for x, which = 135.

Now, just calculate (2/3)*135=90, so the answer is D (90).
