Umm seriously?

I just did my 2nd practice test (GMAT prep test #1).

Last time I did one from the Kaplan CD. I took it after studying mostly quant, and a bit of verbal for about 3 weeks. It was my first test so I wasn't expecting a very high score and was quite happy with my 550 (30Q, 33V). The whole test felt awful though: I felt nervous, couldnt concentrate too well and even had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the verbal section! Plus I had skipped the AWA.

Today, after quite a bit of quant studying (I'm following the 60-day guide) and no verbal studying or practice since the first test I took my second test. I wasn't expecting a great score, but was wishing for about a 600. Well, when the score screen came up after the test it said:

690! 48Q, 37V

I'm absolutely shocked! I'm actually questioning the accuracy of the software and wondering if it might be buggy!

With 2 more months of study time left I think I might have to raise my target goal a bit :)

Anyway, just had to tell someone :)

Great! We are listening. Keep 'em coming. :)

So 700 is not a mythical landmark after all!

By the way, how do you rate Kaplan questions in general? As far as my research goes, they are way behind Manhattan in terms of student appreciation and response.
scio me nihil scire

I haven't tried Manhattan yet so I can't comment. So far I've only been using Kaplan and OG. OG questions, as everyone says, are much obviously better than the Kaplan ones. Kaplan is ok as a study guide so far, but their writing style is a little annoying (they try to be funny, ugh!).

I dunno... I like Kaplan's practice tests better. MGMAT's quant section is harder than the real thing.

joanna.. great progress. What was your question correct percentage for the quant section? I got 70% and got a 39Q on the first practice CAT.
