Jack Nicklaus, who solidified his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, and Tiger Woods are widely regarded as two of the best golfers in the history of the sport.
A] Jack Nicklaus, who solidified his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, and Tiger Woods are widely regarded as two of the best
B] Jack Nicklaus, who solidified his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, and Tiger Woods are widely regarded to be two of the better
C] Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, who solidified his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, are widely regarded to be two of the best
D] Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, who solidified his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, are widely regarded as being two of the better
E] Solidifying his legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are widely regarded as two of the best
The OA is a no doubt A.
The thing to learn from this question is the option E part. I noticed something new, so I thought that I should share it with you guyzzz....
Currently option E is wrong because 'his' in the modifier modifies 'Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods'. How can a singular pronoun represent two nouns.
But the thing to notice is that supposedly if the option E was changed to something like this:
Solidifying their legendary status with an improbable victory at the famed Augusta National Golf Club in 1986, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are widely regarded as two of the best
If this was the case, then this would be a good modifier sentence and it would have been a correct answer.
I was surprised to see something like this. So I thought that probably I should share it with you guyzzzz....
Hope this helps...
