There are approximately 2.2 pounds in one kilogram. To the nearest eighteenth, how many eighteenths of a kilogram are there in one pound?

A: 7
B: 8
C: 9
D: 39
E: 40
OA: B
Okay you probably wonder what the %#%$$% nearest eighteenth mean :D

Looks like this question is discussed before and someone guessed the answer as 8 and 8 was confirmed. Your source says it is 9

https://www.beatthegmat.com/kilo-and-pou ... 14082.html

let me bullshit:

1kg = 2.2 lbs

"eighteenths of a kilogram" means KG/18 to me !!

and since we are asked:

how many eighteenths of a kilogram are there in one pound?

I formulate this as:

= LB/ [(KG/18 )]

= LB/ [(2.2 LB /18 )]

= 18/2.2

= 8.18

So I would say 8, Hence B

in other words there are approximately 8 "eighteenths of a kilogram" in one pound.

I need to go for a walk now

:lol:
