If the two regions above have the same area, what is the ratio t : s?
a) 2 : 3
b) 16 : 3
c) 4 : √3
d) 2 : √3^¼
e) 4 : √3^¼
As far as I can go, the areas are equal, so:
Area of Triangle (at) = (b*h) / 2 = (t*√3) / 2
Area of Square (as) = s²
If at = as, then (t*√3) / 2 = s². Then Im lost. Any hints?
